BALDWINS METAL LAND
Frequently Asked Questions
Mild Steel CQ (Commercial Quality) is a low-carbon steel containing 0.04-0.30% carbon, offering good malleability and ease of fabrication. It’s cost-effective and suitable for general construction applications where extreme strength isn’t critical.
Structural Steel S355JR is a higher-grade structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 355 N/mm², providing superior strength, durability, and load-bearing capacity. The “S” denotes structural use, “355” indicates the yield strength, and “JR” means it can withstand an impact energy of 27J at +20°C. S355JR is ideal for heavy-duty applications, bridges, industrial buildings, and structures requiring higher safety factors.
The optimal section depends on your specific application:
- Universal Beams/Columns: For primary load-bearing structures, building frames, and multi-storey construction
- IPE Sections: Industrial buildings, heavy machinery frameworks, mining structures
- Channels: Secondary structural support, roof systems, conveyor systems, bracing
- Angles: Framework reinforcement, supports, brackets, solar panel mounting
- Flat Bars: General fabrication, security installations, base plates
- Round/Square Bars: Construction frameworks, supports, gates, fencing
Our expert team can provide technical guidance to ensure you select the right products for your specific requirements.
